(Recorded on August 26, 2020.) In this episode, I sit down for some girl talk with beautiful soul and clothing designer Shamiza Ali from Vancouver-based Edna Smak. We chat about opening our arms to greatness, learning from our wrong turns, feeling GOOD in our clothes and flourishing despite the adversity of 2020. Shamiza also shares how fate and a moment of panic led her to her wonderful partner.
Shamiza Ali is a West Coast city girl selling elevators by day and designing size-inclusive clothing at her company Edna Smak by night. Edna Smak started because she couldn't find an affordable, well made plus-size blazer. This made her want to change the shopping experience for women. Shamiza recognized a gap in the fashion market and has focused on helping women build a wardrobe with a few key pieces that will amplify their confidence.
